Registration & classes
Our class schedule is designed to be family-friendly and flexible, accommodating students from a variety of
backgrounds and commitments. Each student follows an individual schedule recommended by the director based
on their level, goals, and areas needing the most attention.
Enrollment requirements
• pointe students are required to attend a minimum of three technique classes per week, plus two
additional classes recommended by the director.
• level 1 and above students are required to enroll in a minimum of two ballet technique classes and one
additional class recommended by the director.
• pre-ballet and primary students may attend once per week.
Note:
parents should understand that a student’s improvement, advancement, and promotion to the next level are directly
connected to attendance, physical and mental readiness, dedication, and progress. Placementand advancement
are determined solely by the director.
⸻
Pre-ballet
Ages 4–8
All students with little or no previous ballet experience begin in this class. Students are introduced
to the fundamentals of movement, musicality, coordination, classroom discipline, and a love for dance.
Would you like to learn exactly what your child will be taught and how the classes are conducted?
Please read the article “what and how you will be taught.”
Note
While the recommended age for pre-ballet is 4–8 years old, some children may begin as early as 3 years of age.
Admission for younger students is considered on an individual basis and depends on the child’s physical
readiness, attention span, ability to follow directions, and overall classroom behavior.
⸻
Primary
Ages 7–12
This is a crucial transitional level where students are introduced to formal classical ballet training.
Classes include simple but serious technical work at the barre, center exercises, and basic allegro
(jumping combinations).
At this level, students must be physically and mentally prepared to begin studying the beautiful and disciplined
theatrical art form known as classical ballet.
⸻
Level 1–2
Ages 8 and up
This level marks another significant step in a student’s training. Dancers learn to work at the barre with one hand
while facing both right and left sides. Emphasis is placed on developing correct body placement, coordination, arm
positions, head movements, musicality, and strength.
Students begin learning more complex combinations, turns, and jumps while building the technical foundation
necessary for future advancement.
⸻
Level 3
Ages 11& up
At this level, coordination, musicality, strength, and proper technique should be well established.
Students continue to refine their artistry and technical abilities while preparing for more advanced work.
Some of the strongest and most physically ready students may begin pointe training at the director’s discretion.
⸻
Level 4/5
Ages 14 & up
Some students may be advised to attend both level 3 and advance classes. This recommendation is made when additional focus onstrengthening andrefining
fundamental technique is needed. Even at advanced levels, continued attention to prope placement, coordination, strength, turnout, and overall classical
ballet foundation remains essential for long-term development and success.
Ages 13 and up
Classes are structured similarly to professional company training, featuring faster-paced and more challenging combinations. Students work on advanced technique,
multiple turns, small and large allegro, adagio work in the center, and increased artistic expression. This level prepares serious students for pre-professional trainingand
advanced training and often leads to stronger technique, better coordination, and greater artistic growth.
⸻
Adult & teen classes
Ages 12 and up
Students with no previous ballet experience begin in our adult beginner ballet classes and progress gradually according to their individual development.
Classes focus on proper technique, strength, flexibility, coordination, and enjoyment of classical ballet in a supportive environment.
⸻
